what THE FUCK do they put in the water in Salford‽*
*i could let this just sit as a private gag, but for those who came in late – i’ve only been in falling-over-stupid love twice. both gals were born in the same hospital in Salford. apart from a completely fucking shite football team, nothing else of note has ever come from there, even though many of my favourite bands are Mancunian.
yes, Katie White of the Ting Tings is my current musicrush. she’s from Salford.
oh, and i don’t mind the Ting Tings‘ easily digestible pop-rock either. it won’t change the world, but it’s damn good fun to thrash about like a tit to.
i am now unemployed. quite up for some epic tit-like thrashing, i am.
ps. how cool are interrobangs‽
mood – twitchy
music – The Ting Tings
reading – still the Fowles of the previous post, but also re-reading Bukowski’s Ham On Rye, dipping into Phaidon inspiration manual The Art of Looking Sideways, which has its namesake in a quite wonderful blog by one of Salford’s finest, actually, and about to start a biography of amazing feminist/photographer/journalist Lee Miller, On Both Sides Of The Camera by Carolyn Burke. Thank you, book voucher departing gift from former employers…
